JAKARTA, iNews.id - Pengertian dan Contoh passive voice dalam Bahasa Inggris menjadi pelajaran yang patut disimak. Sama seperti Bahasa Indonesia, Bahasa Inggris juga terdapat kalimat aktif (active voice) dan kalimat pasif (passive voice) beserta aturannya.
Secara sederhana, passive voice adalah bentuk kalimat hasil dari perubahan kalimat aktif menjadi pasif. Passive voice merupakan merupakan kalimat dengan subjek yang dikenai suatu perbuatan atau aktivitas
Kalimat dengan pola passive voice lebih menekankan pada objek (receiver of action). Kalimat ini menggunakan kata kerja bantu to be dan kata by sebelum objek untuk menjelaskan apa atau siapa yang melakukannya.
Kalimat pasif sebenarnya memiliki banyak bentuk dan perlu disesuaikan dengan rumus dari kalimat aktif sebelumnya. Secara umum, rumus passive voice adalah Subject + Auxiliary Verb + Past Participle (Verb 3) + Object untuk kalimat positif dari simple present tense.
Contoh kalimat: A fable story is read by my dad every night. (Sebuah cerita fabel dibaca oleh ayahku setiap malam.

1. Simple present tense: S + to be (am, are, is) + V3 + by + O
Contoh: The motorcycle is ridden by my father everyday.
(Sepeda motor itu dikendarai oleh ayahku setiap hari)
2.Present continuous tense: S + to be (am, are, is) + being + V3 + by + O
Contoh: The juice is being drunk by Inas.
(Jus itu sedang diminum oleh Inas)
3. Present perfect tense: S + have/has + been + V3 + by + O
Contoh: Ramen has been cooked by my girlfriend. (Ramen telah dimasak oleh kekasihku)
4. Present perfect continuous tense: S + have/has + been + being + V3 + by + O
Contoh: Titanic movie has been being watched by many romantic addict. (Film Titanic telah ditonton oleh banyak pecandu romantis)
5. Simple past tense: S + to be (was/were) + V3 + by + O
Contoh: The cheese was stolen by a mouse in the kitchen yesterday. (Keju itu dicuri oleh tikus di dapur kemarin)
6. Past continuous tense: S + to be (was/were) + being + V3 + by + O
Contoh: The customer was being asked by the police when the thief came into the store. (Orang yang sedang belanja tersebut sedang ditanyai oleh polisi saat pencuri masuk ke toko tersebut)
7. Past perfect tense: S + had + been + V3 + by + O
Contoh: Many cars had been repaired by those mechanics. (Banyak mobil telah diperbaiki oleh para mekanik itu)
8. Past perfect continuous tense: S + had + been + being + V3 + by + O
Contoh: The Warung Padang had been being prepared by Chef Arnold. (Warung Padang telah dipersiapkan oleh Chef Arnold sejak 2018)
9. Simple future tense: S + will be + V3 + by + O
Contoh: Holiday will be announced by the head of the class.
(Hari libur akan diumumkan oleh ketua kelas.)
10. Future continuous tense: S + will + be + being + V3 + by + O
Contoh: The journal will be being analyzed by Masirom at this time the day after tomorrow. (Jurnal tersebut akan (sedang) dianalisa oleh Masirom pada waktu ini nanti lusa.)
11. Future perfect tense: S + will + have + been + V3 + by + O
Contoh: The presentation will have been delivered by me at 1 pm today. (Presentasi akan (sudah) disampaikan oleh saya pada jam 1 siang hari ini.)
12. Future perfect continuous tense: S + will + have + been + being + O
Contoh: The spaghetti will have been buying by my brother. (Spaghetti akan dibeli oleh kakak saya.)
13. Simple past future tense: S + would + be + V3 + by + O
Contoh: I knew the work would be finished by him at 5:00 PM. (Aku tahu pekerjaan tersebut akan diselesaikan oleh dia pada pukul 5 sore)
14. Past future continuous tense: S + would + be + being + V3 + by + O
Contoh: Bumi Manusia novel would be being read by my little brother.
(Novel Bumi Manusia akan dibaca oleh adik lelaki saya)
15. Past future perfect tense: S + would + have + been + V3 + by + O
Contoh: My room would have been tidied up by me.
(Kamarku pasti sudah dirapikan olehku sendiri)
16. Past future perfect continuous tense: S + would + have + been + being + V3 + by + O
Contoh: Research methodology would have been being studied by us for a semester by the end of this month.
(Metodologi penelitian akan kami pelajari selama satu semester pada akhir bulan ini.)
17. Modals (present): S + may/can/must + be + V3 + by + O
Contoh: The article must be created by Bagja, he needs lots of inspiration. (Artikel itu harus dibuat oleh Azka, dia butuh banyak inspirasi)
18. Modals (past): S + might/could/had to + be + V3 + by + O
Contoh: Lombok might be visited by Marquez in MotoGP event.
(Lombok mungkin akan dikunjungi Marquez di acara MotoGP)
19. Infinitive: S + has to/have to + be + V3 + by + O
Contoh: Russia have to be visited by me for student exchange. (Rusia harus saya kunjungi untuk pertukaran pelajar.)
20. Going to: S + to be (am, are, is) + going to + be + V3 + by + O
Contoh: The letters are going to be delivered by courier. (Surat-surat itu akan dikirim melalui kurir.)
